Not every couple dreams about a large wedding with hundreds of guests, months of planning and a long list of things to worry about.
Sometimes you simply want to be together, exchange your vows and enjoy the moment.
At Niagara Wedding Chapel, we specialize in intimate elopements and commitment ceremonies in Niagara Falls, Ontario, giving couples a beautiful and relaxed alternative to a large traditional wedding.
Whether it is just the two of you or you would like a few family members and close friends by your side, we believe your ceremony should feel personal, meaningful and comfortable.
Niagara Falls has been bringing couples together for generations. Known around the world as the Honeymoon Capital, it is still one of Canada's most romantic destinations to get married.
An elopement allows you to concentrate on what really matters — the two of you.
You don't need a ballroom filled with guests to have a beautiful wedding. You don't need months or years of planning either.
At Niagara Wedding Chapel, we make the process as easy as possible. Jacqueline helps guide our couples through their wedding plans, and our experienced officiants perform both civil and religious ceremonies.
You can exchange traditional vows or make the ceremony more personal by including your own vows and exchanging rings.
And when the ceremony is over, you are already in Niagara Falls, where you can turn your wedding day into a romantic getaway.
A commitment ceremony can look and feel very much like a wedding ceremony, but it does not create a legal marriage.
There is no Ontario marriage licence required, no marriage registration and no legal marriage certificate.
Instead, the ceremony is about making a personal commitment to one another.
You can exchange vows.
You can exchange rings.
You can have family and friends with you.
You can have photographs taken.
Most importantly, you can create a ceremony that means something to the two of you.
Couples choose commitment ceremonies for many different reasons. Some don't want the legal aspect of marriage. Some may already be legally married. Others simply want to celebrate their relationship and make promises to one another in a beautiful setting.
There isn't one right reason.
It's your relationship, your ceremony and your choice.
One of the advantages of choosing Niagara Wedding Chapel is that you aren't limited to one type of setting.
Our Skylight Gallery Chapel provides an intimate indoor setting for ceremonies throughout the year.
It is ideal for couples who want the comfort and privacy of an indoor chapel while still having a setting that looks beautiful in their wedding photographs.
And because our professional photography studio is located right here, everything is conveniently in one location.
For couples who love the outdoors, our Garden Chapel provides a completely different experience.
Surrounded by flowers, greenery and the beauty of the season, it creates a private and romantic setting for an elopement or commitment ceremony.
Our outdoor chapel is seasonal, generally available from the end of May through late October.
And if Mother Nature decides not to cooperate, having our indoor chapel and professional portrait studio at the same location gives couples additional options.
Photography has always been an important part of Niagara Wedding Chapel.
Charles Vandersluys and Jacqueline Baldini are both Master and Craftsman Photographers with the Professional Photographers of America, with decades of professional photography experience.
Both Charles and Jacqueline have also been inducted into the City of Niagara Falls Arts & Culture Wall of Fame, becoming the only married couple to receive this honour.
Baldini Vandersluys Photographers has been serving couples on Lundy's Lane since 1994, and Niagara Wedding Chapel was established in 2012.
Most of our wedding packages include professional photography, so couples don't have to search for a separate photographer.
Even if you select a ceremony package that doesn't include professional photography, we're more than happy to take a few photographs for you with your own phone.
Sometimes those little things make a big difference
Niagara Wedding Chapel wasn't created to be a large banquet hall.
We specialize in small weddings, elopements, vow renewals and commitment ceremonies.
That means an intimate ceremony isn't an afterthought here — it's what we do.
You aren't trying to make a large wedding venue work for two people or a small group. Our chapel was designed around couples who want something smaller, more personal and easier to plan.
And you won't be dealing with a large corporate booking department.
When you contact Niagara Wedding Chapel, you'll talk directly with Charles or Jacqueline, real people who will answer your questions and help you decide what works best for your day.
The biggest difference is simple.
If you are eloping and becoming legally married in Ontario, you will need a valid Ontario marriage licence and the ceremony must meet Ontario's legal requirements.
If you choose a commitment ceremony, there is no legal marriage taking place, so a marriage licence isn't required.
But emotionally, either ceremony can be just as meaningful.
Both can include vows, rings, photographs, music and the people who are most important to you.
Your ceremony doesn't have to be complicated to be unforgettable.
Maybe you have been together for years and finally decided, "Let's do it."
Maybe you want to get away together and elope in Niagara Falls.
Maybe marriage paperwork isn't important to you, but standing together and making a commitment is.
Whatever brought you here, we'd love to help make the experience special.
Because after all these years, one thing we've learned is that no two couples — and no two love stories — are exactly alike.
Niagara Wedding Chapel isn't only about weddings. It's about the people we meet along the way.
