We were teaching a Professional Photographers of America workshop to other professional photographers working towards a degree. A photo shoot on the island of St. Lucia, in the West Indies. We taught workshops for PPA for 8 years on the island, so after we did a family portrait, I got to 'play' with this idea...

This gorgeous girl's name was Kristina and this was the making of "Kristina's World". I was shooting Fuji 1600 (loved that film) with my Nikon F2 just at sunset. After the series, I had her walk into the water and waited for just the right wave in my viewfinder - that MAGIC that happens, and you know you nailed it !!

This print was exhibited at The PPA International Convention, the Fuji Award exhibit, Won the Fuji Masterpiece Award, became the Cover photo of the boxed set, was published in the Loan Collection hardcover book, became part of the Professional Photographers of America Traveling Loan Collection and received the American Society of Photographers Medallion Award.
